Copying a DVD to your Hard Drive and Decrypting it with
DVDFab Decrypter 2.9.3.2

If you get errors while trying to copy a DVD with DVDShrink, try using DVDFab Decrypter, it will copy the whole DVD to your hard drive and decrypt it. DVDFab Decrypter is probably easier to use than DVD Decrypter, and does a pretty good job on scratched DVDs.

1). Insert your DVD movie into your DVD drive and open DVDFab Decrypter. Make sure the "Source" is the DVD that you want to copy, and the "Target" is where you want to copy the DVD to on your hard drive.
You can click the button to change the "Source" or "Target". When you select your "Target" directory, DVDFab Decrypter will add a sub-directory called "DVD", that is where all the files from your DVD will be copied to (remember that path, you will need it later). Click the "Start" button.

2). It will always prompt you to delete the files in your "Target" directory, even if there aren't any files in the directory. Click the "Yes" button to continue.

3). Nothing to do now but wait. Depending on how much data is on the DVD, or how badly scratched it is, it can take from 10-45 minutes. If it runs for an hour or more you may want to stop it, the DVD may be very badly scratched or defective. If you think the DVD is scratched, and you really really want a copy of it, I would suggest starting it when you go to bed, or go to work. If it is still running after several hours you may want to forget about it.

4). You're finished coping the DVD to your hard drive. Now you can close DVDFab Decrypter and open up DVDShrink.

5). In DVD Shrink, click "Open Files" and navigate to the directory that you copied the DVD to. Select the "VIDEO_TS" folder and click "OK".

6). Now go to the DVDShrink Guide and continue on at step 6.
